Olivia's Amazing Party In Wonderland

This was such a fun 4th birthday party! Olivia had been asking for an Alice In Wonderland theme Tea Party birthday party for her 4th party. I started gathering tea cups and tea pots from Deseret Industries and Savers, and I would luck out and find the cutest things for her party! As much as I wanted it to be an amazing tea party, my goal was not to spend a ton of money. Everything I got for her party I either had, or spent less that a dollar on most of the items. Example: the plastic tea cups I was able to find for the girls to decorate were only $0.25 a cup! My dad dressed up as the Mad Hatter(we were short on some face makeup but I thought he did an excellent job!) And of course we got Olivia her very own Alice dress, and then I found a girl "mad hatter" costume that I added a big tutu under to make it more appropriate for her party:) We had planned to have the party outside but just our luck it was raining on her birthday! So we were able to have it in a school classroom. So the activities that we did for her party (a video will be posted later of some of everything) were pin the smile on the Cheshire Cat, "Painting the Roses Red" musical chairs (except I drew out cardboard roses and left one of them white and the rest red, so whatever girl was on the white rose was out. It was more like how a cake walk goes) We did it to the song "Painting the Roses Red" from the original Alice In Wonderland Soundtrack. Decorate a tea cup. We had a small bounce house. Washable glitter tattoos. I had the Alice In Wonderland Soundtrack playing the whole time for background music. Then my wonderful cousin agreed to be our special "Alice" guest. We played all the games first and then we had a tea party and that is when Alice showed up! We had uncrustable sandwiches, orange jello "caterpillars", oranges, "tea" in the tea cups they decorated. And of course cupcakes, cookies (my very favorite sugar cookie recipe and icing! Ill share later) etc...- I wanted to write on them "eat me" and "drink me" but ended up making little signs that said those sayings and tossing them in as part of the table decorations. And then we had an ice cream station. After the tea party Alice did story time with the girls with her book. And then we had her hand Olivia her presents. For the girls goodie bags, I drew each of them on a notebook that said their name example "Olivia's Adventures" , some cupcake filled candy containers, nail polish with a tag on it saying "The Queen of Hearts caught you painting the roses red, if you wish to keep your head, paint your nails instead!" (came up with that, pretty clever huh?) and their own copy of the Alice in Wonderland book, and a red squeeze it. So when Alice handed them their goodie bag she told them she made a special book for them to write down their adventures in:) The party lasted for 2 hours. It was the smoothest running party. All of the girls had a blast! It was so much fun!  I asked my lovely sister to take pictures cause she is an AMAZING photographer. Her website is http://www.stephaniehydephotography.com/ Here are some of the pictures from our Party in Wonderland!
